Spot2 Ueno Toshogu Shrine About 30 minutes
This shrine dedicated to the first shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu was built in 1627 and still retains features of Edo period architecture. It is also famous for its cherry blossoms.
Accessibility Information
There is an alternate approach to the shrine that lets wheelchair users get close to the main shrine pavilion. English signage provides an explanation. The area inside the Sukibei Wall is inaccessible to wheelchair users due to gravel, steps, etc.

Spot4 Statue of Saigo Takamori About 15 minutes
This bronze statue built in 1877 commemorates the devoted samurai and military leader from Satsuma domain who played an influential role in the fall of the Shogunate and reinstatement of the Emperor at Edo Castle, as well as the subsequent Boshin War fought between the Shogunate and forces loyal to the imperial court.
Accessibility Information
The area around the statue is flat and visitors can get a close-up look. Use the elevators in the shopping complex near the statue (in operation 10:00 AM-11:00 PM) to go down toward the Hirokoji Gate.

About 200 meters Travel Tips Use the elevator at the nearby shopping complexes to get down to the street below. Cross at the intersection and take the Exit 5a elevator in front of Marui down to the basement. Then, head toward Exit 9 to get to the ticket gate with an elevator down to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line platform. Take the Ginza Line and get off at Mitsukoshimae Station. Use Exit A6 for COREDO Muromachi 1 and Exit A4 for COREDO Muromachi 3. The buildings are directly connected to the station underground for easy passage during rainy weather.

Spot6 Fukutoku-jinja Shrine (Mebuki Inari) About 10 minutes
Said to have been founded during the Jogan era (859-876), this shrine had a strong following among military commanders and was even visited many times by the first shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.
