About 850 meters Travel Tips Head to JR Machida Station, and then turn left. Take the elevator in front of Machida Tokyu Twins to the 1st floor. At the intersection under pedestrian bridge, turn left.

Spot1 Machida Museum of Literature Kotoba-land About 20 minutes
This Public Museum of Literature was founded to house literary materials or other articles donated to the city of Machida by the estate of long-time resident writer Endo Shusaku. On the 1st floor, there is a material reading room where the books of literary figures related to Machida are stored, and mini displays. In the 2nd floor there is a gallery to host regular or special exhibitions related to Literature, publishing and printing culture, showing the facility commitment with “words” (kotoba, as in the Museum´s name, Kotoba-land).
Accessibility Information
The Floor of the Museum has guidance blocks for visually impaired visitors. Each floor has a wheelchair accessible elevator. There are also tools for writing communication.

"Kotoba-lando" introduces literary figures who are related to Machida, and has established a literary award for elementary, junior high, and high school students, and is also focusing on activities to nurture future writers.

About 800 meters Travel Tips The road to the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts has a steep slope with a maximum gradient of 12 degrees, so avoid the slope and turn left. Wheelchair users should use the slopes in Serigaya Park. The entrance to the slope is narrow, so be careful.

Spot2 Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts About 40 minutes
One of the few Arts Museums in the world focused on hanga (block print art), with an attractive collection of more than 33,000 Japanese and Western paintings. Is the perfect place to become acquainted with hanga and enjoy a promenade in the lush greenery of Serigaya Park.

Spot3 Kougasaka Stone Age Site (Hachimandaira Ruins) About 5 minutes
Middle Jomon Period ruins of dwelling with stone floors discovered in 1925. Currently, the remains are backfilled and preserved, but the original appearance is reproduced on the place. There is a splendid circular view of the town from the top of the hill.

Spot6 Serigaya Park
A spacious park full of rich greenery, and various sculptures scattered inside small ponds. A highly pleasant place for adults and children, where you can enjoy the water plays pond, mini cascades, the Rainbow & Water Square, The Adventure Square, the Multipurpose Square and may other attractions.
