There are several ways to get around the island: village buses (local buses), taxis (shared-ride taxis on Hahajima), rental cars, rental bikes, and rental bicycles. There is also the possibility of taking a guided tour.
Of these, the village bus and guided tours (TommyGWorld) are wheelchair accessible. (Other transportation options are not wheelchair accessible.)
Village buses also operate low-floor non-step vehicles.
TommyGWorld, which offers guided tours, has a lift-up vehicle that is easy for wheelchair users to transfer to and from.
The Hahajima Maru, which runs between Chichijima and Hahajima, is barrier-free.
