日本三大だるま市の一つ、深大寺だるま市の地にある、だるまパワーで元気になるお店「だるチャンのおうち」
Located in the grounds of the Daruma Market at Jindaiji, one of the three major Daruma Markets in Japan, is "Daruchan’s House", a shop where you can feel the power of Daruma and become energized.
日本三大だるま市の一つ「深大寺だるま市」が開催される深大寺近くにある「だるチャンのおうち」。「多摩だるま」や地域の仲間たちで作った一点物の、だるまグッズ、ちょう布だるま、柿渋染めの手作り商品や、多摩だるまを中心とした全国のだるまがずらりと並んでいます。
だるまを展示販売しているだけではなく、だるまゲームで遊んだり、だるまに変身したり、だるま作りワークショップ（※要予約）も体験できる場所です。
Near Jindaiji where one of the three major Daruma Markets in Japan, the Jindaiji Daruma Market, is held, is " Daruchan’s House ". The shop offers unique, one-of-a-kind Daruma goods made by local craftsmen and artisans, including Tama Daruma, Chofu Daruma, handmade persimmon tannin-dyed products, and a variety of Daruma from all over Japan.
The shop not only sells and displays Daruma, but also provides a place where visitors can play Daruma games, transform themselves into Daruma, and participate in a Daruma-making workshop (reservation required).

深大寺近隣の小学生のボディーパーカッショングループから誕生しただるチャン
「だるチャンのおうち」でパッと目につくのが、お店の看板にも描かれているマスコットキャラクターのだるチャン。2004年の春、代表の貴山さんが開いていた子どものボディーパーカッショングループでお揃いのTシャツを作ったことからだるチャンが誕生しました。

One of the highlights of the shop is the mascot character "Daruchan," which is also featured on the shop's signboard. Daruchan was created in the spring of 2004 when the representative, Keiko Kiyama, made matching T-shirts for a children's body percussion group that she used to lead.

全て手作業で作られた一点物、ひとつとして同じものがないだるまたち
こちらでは隙間時間や自宅でもできる手仕事として、地域の女性たちと一緒にみんなでアイデアを出しながら商品を作っています。家に眠る古布や余り布を貼り合わせてだるまを手作業で作るので、全て一点物、同じものはありません。
貴山さんと一緒に働いているスタッフの方も、毎日ここにくるのが楽しみでしょうがないそうで、地域の女性が社会活動に参加できるきっかけの場所にもなっているようです。
Each Daruma is a unique, one-of-a-kind item handmade through manual labor. There are no two dolls that are exactly the same.
All the Daruma sold at the shop are one-of-a-kind, handmade by local women who come up with ideas for the products during their free time or at home. Because they are made by hand, using leftover and scrap fabrics, no two daruma’s are exactly alike. The staff members who work with Kiyama come to the shop every day because they enjoy it so much, and the shop has become a place where local women can participate in social activities.

「伝統のだるまとは違う、ここにしかないだるまを、地域の女性みんなでアイデアだしあって作れることが楽しい。100歳まで現役でいたいし、作っている人たちも元気になるようなお店をこれからも続けていきたいですね。」（貴山さん）
だるまの歴史を感じながら、深大寺を散策しながら、自分だけのちょう布だるまを探しに行ってみるのはいかがでしょうか。
"Unlike traditional daruma, it's fun to come up with unique daruma that you can only find here, and to make them with all the women in the community. I want to continue this shop that makes people happy, including the staff who work here, and I want to be active until I'm 100 years old." (Ms. Kiyama)
