Access to Niijima and Shikinejima
Niijima can be accessed by sea or by air.
By sea, a high-speed ferry from the Takeshiba Passenger Boat Terminal arrives at Niijima Port or Wakago Fishing port in 2 hours and 20 minutes, and a large passenger ship arrives at Niijima Port in 8 hours and 30 minutes.
By air, Niijima Airport is 40 minutes away by propeller plane from Chofu Aerodrome.
Shikinejima can be accessed by sea only.
It takes the high-speed ferry 2 hours and 20 minutes from Takeshiba Passenger Boat Terminal, and 9 hours for the passenger ship to arrive at Nobushi Fishing port.
Between Niijima and Shikinejima, it takes about 15 minutes to come and go by Ferry Nishiki.
The recommended route introduced on this website is a plan to visit Shikinejima by Tokai Kisen high-speed ferry from Takeshiba, and then visit Niijima with Ferry Nishiki. You can also use Tokai Kisen's large passenger ship or New Central Airservice for access.

The recommended route is based on the following transportation methods: high-speed ferry from Takeshiba to Shikinejima and from Niijima to Takeshiba, and Ferry Nishiki from Shikinejima to Niijima.

Exit through the Yurikamome Takeshiba Station gate on the right and take the elevator on the left side (marked “1B” at the station).

Accessibility Information
There are no steps between the entrance and exit of the facility or inside the facility, and Braille blocks have been installed along the main flow lines both outdoors and indoors. There are two private rooms in the nursing room, equipped with hot water heaters for baby formula. There is a lifting device for boarding the high-speed jet ferry.

There are two wheelchair-accessible restrooms, one outdoors and one indoors. The indoor restrooms are separated for men and women and have multipurpose seats.

Niijima Airport
Niijima Airport is located on the east side of the center of the gourd-shaped island and serves as the air gateway between the island and the mainland. There are airline counters, restaurants, and stores on the first floor, and an observation deck on the second floor.
Accessibility Information
Wheelchair parking is easily accessible from the terminal.
There are no steps at the entrance or inside the facility. An attendant will assist you when boarding and disembarking from the aircraft.
