Access to Hachijojima
There are both air and sea routes to Hachijojima.
Air service is available from Tokyo Haneda Airport by jet plane, which takes 55 min. Both Haneda Airport and Hachijojima Airport are fully flat and barrier-free for arrivals and departures.
The large Passenger Ship from Tokyo Takeshiba Pier takes 10 hr 20 min. The ferry arrives at either Sokodo Port or Yaene Port. If you are a wheelchair user, you must make a request at the time of reservation.

Port of Tokyo(Tokyo Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal)
Exit through the ticket gate on the right (at the station, “1B”). The elevator will be on the left side.

Baby Room (Nursing Room)
Accessibility Information
There are no steps at the entrance or inside the facility, and Braille blocks are laid out along the main flow lines both outdoors and indoors. There are two private rooms in the nursing room, and a water heater is provided for baby formula. There is a lifting device for boarding the high-speed jet ferry.
Indoor wheelchair-accessible restroom Restroom Information
There are two wheelchair-accessible restrooms, one outdoors and one indoors. The indoor restroom is separated for men and women and has multipurpose seats.

Kaminato Port(Kaminato(Sokodo)Port Passenger Watiting Room)
Kaminato (Sokodo) Port is the marine gateway to Hachijojima and is the departure and arrival point for passenger ships from Takeshiba. The waiting area provides information on the island’s specialties and tourist attractions, and serves as a hub for interactions between local residents and tourists.
Accessibility Information
The entrance on the 2nd floor of the building is on the side of the road, in front of the wheelchair parking lot. To get to the passenger boat boarding area, take the elevator down to the 1st floor of the building, then use the ramp to reach the boarding area.
Restroom Information
Separate toilets for men and women (with ostomate facilities and diaper- changing seats) are located on the 2nd floor, where the waiting area is located.

Yaene Port(Yaene Port Passenger Watiting Room)
This is a waiting area for ship passengers at Yaene Port, a sub port of Hachijojima. It is open when passenger ships arrive at Yaene Port depending on weather and wave conditions, but restrooms are always available.
Accessibility Information
The building faces a sloping road, with stairs (3 steps) on the right side toward the road side entrance, and a flat on the left side (toilet entrance).

There is a separate wheelchair-accessible restroom (with an ostomate function and a diaper-changing seat).

Traffic
Transportation on the island includes local buses (Hachijo Town Bus), taxis, rental cars, and private emergency services (Private Ambulance Feel). Of these, Hachijo Town buses and Private Ambulance Feel are wheelchair accessible. Hachijo Town Bus operates two low-floor non-step bus vehicles that are wheelchair accessible. Private Ambulance Feel has two vehicles, a lift type and an ambulance type, and provides not only emergency transportation but also nursing care taxis. Hachijo Town Bus
The bus runs 6 times a day for the "circular route" (not available on Sundays), 9 times a day from Kaminato Port to Sueyoshi in the southern part of the island, and 8 times a day from Sueyoshi to Kaminato.
