When using New Central Airservice, you will arrive at Kozushima Airport.
Kozushima Airport
This is the gateway to the sky, located at the southern tip of the island. A propeller-driven passenger plane with a capacity of 19 passengers operates two to three round trips a day to and from Chofu Aerodrome. For the flight schedule, please visit the New Central Airservice website (external link https://www.central-air.co.jp/ ). The terminal building is a two-story structure with an observation deck on the second floor.
Accessibility Information
From the parking lot to the terminal building, the first floor where the arrival and departure lobby are located, as well as the boarding area are all on the same level with virtually no steps. The boarding ramp is a stairway, so wheelchair users must be assisted by staff. Restrooms and a nursing room are located on the first floor.
Restroom Information
There is a separate wheelchair-accessible restroom on the first floor.

Traffic
Transportation on the island is possible using village buses (local buses), cabs, and rental cars.
Village buses connect the main tourist attractions and harbors, but the frequency of service varies depending on the season. In addition, the roads on the island are narrow, and most bus stops do not have ramps for wheelchair access. Please check the website of the village office before using the buses.
One of the two cab companies has wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
There are two car rental agencies, but most of them use light cars due to the conditions of the island's roads.
-
Toshima Taxi
They have two vehicles: the large vehicle shown in the photo (seven-seater Noah Hybrid) and a smaller vehicle (five-seater Sorio Hybrid) to meet your needs and objectives. Please inquire and consult them in advance about the number of people using the vehicle and the type of wheelchair before making a reservation.
